Our Firm & Attorneys
Wilkinson, Carmody & Gilliam has always been based in Shreveport, Louisiana. We were established in 1895 by John Dallas Wilkinson and A.T. Alexander in the Wells Fargo Building on Market Street. Two of our longtime clients include The Kansas City Southern Railway (whom we began representing in 1898) and Southwestern Electric Power Co.
Today, the firm’s partners, Bobby S. Gilliam and Mark E. Gilliam, have over 70 years combined experience of practicing law. While our attorneys are known for excelling in certain areas of litigation, including commercial and corporate litigation, transportation, railroad law, insurance defense, employment law, public utility law and medical malpractice defense, we are also well-regarded for our commitment to client relationships and personalized service.
Small size, big service
Throughout our 120-year history, we have chosen the smaller firm approach to provide more personalized service to our clients and have never had more than seven attorneys practicing at one time. We also maintain an experienced and friendly staff of paralegals to assist our attorneys and clients. As our client, you will feel like you are represented by a “boutique firm” — because you are.
At Wilkinson, Carmody & Gilliam, we are dedicated to providing a personalized, hands-on approach to every case we handle. We are deliberate about communicating effectively with our clients and building and continuing great relationships, whether the context is a major trial, a significant transaction or a smaller one-time legal matter, as we understand that all cases and legal matters are important to our clients.
